Adelaide signed small forward Jess Waterhouse as a replacement player for Season Seven in 2022. Waterhouse captained the Young Matildas at 15 and played three seasons of soccer with Adelaide United in the W-League before taking up football after watching two-time Crows Premiership defender Marijana Rajcic make the switch. The opportunity to join the Crows came after stints with Christies Beach, Glenelg, Happy Valley and South Adelaide.
Waterhouse played two AFLW games in season seven and then ten in 2023, highlighted by a busy two-goal performance in the finals against Sydney. After three appearances in 2024, Waterhouse was delisted at the end of the year.
