Anne Hatchard

Biography

Selected in the Youth Girls All Australian football side in 2016, Anne Hatchard was on the Adelaide Lightning basketball roster for the WNBL when drafted by Adelaide for its AFLW inaugural squad.

Recruited from Morphettville Park in the SAWFL, Hatchard played in Adelaide’s first game in 2017 and the inaugural premiership but transformed from a fringe player to become a three-time Club Champion, four-time All-Australian and the Club’s second player to reach 100 AFLW games.

Hatchard was in and out of the side in 2018 and did not collect more than 11 disposals in the first two seasons. But she had a massive off-season leading into 2019 and was fit enough to spend more time in the midfield, where she thrived.

Hatchard played every game, finished third in the Club Champion award, was named in the All Australian team and was among Adelaide’s best in the grand final win at Adelaide Oval. She continued to improve in 2020, winning the Crows Club Champion for the first time and earning All-Australian honours.

Hatchard had an exceptional 2022, dominating in seasons six and seven when she won two Club Champion awards, was selected in both All Australian sides and was voted best-on-ground in the Season Six grand final. Runner-up to Brisbane’s Emily Bates in the season six AFLW Medal count, Hatchard was one of seven Crows to play in each of the 2017, 2019 and 2022 (S6) premierships.

Hatchard was elevated to the Crows’ leadership ground ahead of the 2024 season. She played her 100^th AFLW game in the last minor round of the 2025 season.

Hatchard qualified for Crows Life Membership in 2025 by playing in her tenth season with the Club and then asked to be traded to Gold Coast.
