Biography
Abbie Ballard was selected with Pick No.34 at the 2021 AFLW Draft.
A balanced midfielder/small forward with good skills on either side of her body, Ballard won a best-and-fairest at West Adelaide in 2019 and was captain of the side in the 2021 SAWFL grand final. Ballard made her AFLW debut for Adelaide against West Coast in Round Three, Season Six, 2022. She went on to play every game in Season Seven and was nominated for the AFLW Rising Star in Round Two that season. Ballard played the first seven games of 2023 but then ruptured her ACL and was ruled out for the remainder of the season. She returned from injury in 2024 and featured in finals against Fremantle and Brisbane but did not play any games in the 2025 season.
