Growing up, exciting small forward Tyson Stengle played for Portland Football Club. At Woodville-West Torrens, he kicked 37 goals in 19 games with the Eagles Reserves and Under-18s. During the 2016 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships he was one of SA’s key players.
Stengle played two AFL games after Richmond drafted the South Australian in the 2017 Rookie Draft. Two years later, he was traded to Adelaide ahead of the 2019 season. He booted five goals in two games for Adelaide that year. During the off-season, he took over the No. 18 guernsey from Eddie Betts and played another 12 games in 2020. However, he was delisted before the 2021 season after a series of off-field incidents.
