Growing up, exciting small forward Tyson Stengle played for Portland Football Club while he was at Woodville-West Torrens, kicking 37 goals in 19 games with the Eagles Reserves and Under-18s. During the 2016 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships he was one of SA’s key players.

Stengle played two AFL games after Richmond drafted the South Aussie in the 2017 Rookie Draft. Two years later, he was traded to Adelaide ahead of the 2019 season. In his first season at the Crows, Stengle kicked five goals in his two games.
