Recruited from the Geelong Falcons, Tom Doedee was selected by the Crows with pick No.17 at the 2015 national draft. He spent his first two seasons developing in the SANFL and was runner-up in the State League best-and-fairest in 2017. The courageous intercept defender slotted seamlessly into Adelaide’s backline in 2018. He made his AFL debut in round one, played 20 games, finished sixth in the best-and-fairest and was runner-up in the NAB AFL Rising Star award. He also won the Club’s Emerging Talent and Players Trademark awards, plus the Dr Brian Sando OAM trophy for his outstanding professionalism and preparation to play at the highest level. But Doedee ruptured an ACL in round one of 2019 and missed the rest of the season. He was elevated to the leadership group ahead of the 2020 season and was interim captain for five games when Rory Sloane was injured. Doedee played 21 games in 2021 and 20 in 2022 but suffered another serious knee injury midway through 2023. A restricted free agent, he joined Brisbane at the end of the season.
