An emerging defender, Doedee easily slotted into Adelaide’s backline in 2018 following two years in the SANFL. He was a promising basketballer growing up, representing Vic Country at the Under-18 Australian Basketball Championships. The lure of footy proved too much for the Geelong local, however, and he returned to the Falcons in the TAC Cup.

A shock move to some, the Crows selected Doedee with pick No. 17 in the 2015 draft. He was the No. 1 intercept player in his second SANFL season and finished second behind Scott Thompson in the State League Club Champion award. He made his AFL debut in 2018, playing 20 games for the season and finishing second in the NAB AFL Rising Star award. His career was staled in 2019 when he required knee reconstruction surgery but resumed in 2002 when he was made part of the leadership group and at times captained the team when Rory Sloane was injured.
