An under-18 talent from NSW, Tim McIntyre moved to Sturt to increase his chances of reaching the AFL. Adelaide signed the strong-marking small forward at the 2012 Rookie Draft, and in 2012 he debuted with two goals in Showdown XXXIII. It was his only AFL appearance with McIntyre delisted at the end of the season.
