Taylor Walker, the boy from Broken Hill, became Adelaide’s first AFL NSW Scholarship player in 2006. Prior to being drafted in 2007, he guided North Broken Hill to a premiership, booting seven goals, and was named best-on-ground despite being just 17. He had a breakout year in 2011, kicking 63 goals.
He has captained the Crows since 2015 and twice been voted the AFLPA Best Captain, in 2016 and 2017, is a three-time All Australian nominee and two-time leading goalkicker for Adelaide.
Walker kicked 54 goals during Adelaide’s premiership push in 2017. After injury interrupted his 2018 season, the skipper underwent surgery on his foot at the end of the season. In early 2019 Walker married long-term partner Ellie Brown, and the pair welcomed their first child in November.
That same year he was Adelaide’s leading goalkicker with 43 majors, however after a challenging season on and off the field for Adelaide, Walker stepped down as co-captain.
