South Australian by birth, Stephen Rowe started his career in WA with South Fremantle, moving to Norwood in SA in 1987 winning that club’s Club best and fairest award in 1990, The tough rover became one of the characters in the Crows’ first squad. Always enthusiastic, he played 29 games across five seasons, missing the 1994 season due to a knee reconstruction. Rowe finished his career at Norwood where he won a SANFL premiership medal in 1997.
In 2021 the Rowe tradition continued with son James beginning his AFL/AFC playing career as the 241st Crows player in Dad’s original Crows’ number 31!
