Hailing from Ardrossan, on the Yorke Peninsula, Sam Jacobs was originally selected by Carlton in the 2006 rookie draft. The Woodville-West Torrens product scattered 17 games across four years for the Blues before he was traded to Adelaide.

Post his Adelaide debut in 2011, Jacobs received three All Australian nominations and averaged 30+ hit-outs a game in eight of his nine seasons. The ever-reliable ruckman had only missed six games in his time at West Lakes, prior to 2019.

Jacobs played his 200th game in Round 22 of the 2019 season, before being traded to the GWS Giants for the 2020 season.

He returned to the Crows at the end of 2020 to take up the administration position as the Club’s Engagement Executive.
