Although his AFL career was short, Romano Negri was a ruckman in the first ever Crows AFL team that played in the historic game against Hawthorn. Recruited by Woodville from Tasmania in 1987, Negri captained the Warriors in its last two seasons before a merger with West Torrens. The towering Negri, who stood at 204 cm, offered serious height. He finished his playing days with Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL in 1995.
