Biography

Richard Douglas started playing footy at his local club in Broadford, a small town in central Victoria, where he was coached by his father. He then played for the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup, before he was taken by the Crows with pick No. 16. Douglas made his AFL debut in the Round 21 Showdown of 2006.

Since then, he  won a number of awards across his 13 seasons, including Club Champion in 2010, Best Team Man in 2013 and 2017 and the Coaches’ Award in 2008 and 2010. In 2017, Douglas played his 200th game in Round Five against Gold Coast.

In 2019, Douglas played nine more games before leaving West Lakes at the end of the season.
