Biography

Hahndorf junior Matthew Jaensch progressed through the junior ranks at Sturt and was rookie-listed by the Crows in 2009 after an impressive maiden SANFL league season. He made his AFL debut the following year in a Showdown and played 11 games for the year.

Injuries and form restricted him to 34 games in the next three seasons, but he had a breakout year in 2014, when he played 22 games at half-back, putting together career-best numbers. Jaensch continued to play well early in 2015 before rupturing an ACL in Round Seven. Following a knee reconstruction, he did not play another game and retired.
