Lucas Herbert was a powerfully-built ruck from Mt Gambier who played for Glenelg and North Adelaide before drafted by the Crows at the end of 1998. He made his AFL debut in the opening round of 1999 as the 100th player to represent the Crows – and booted a goal with his first kick. Herbert played 14 games in his debut season but was delisted after just one year. One of the 14 games was spent sitting on the bench for the whole match. He returned to the SANFL.
