After a seven-game stint with Richmond in 1993, James Thiessen eventually found his way to Norwood, where he played in an SANFL premiership  and represented the SANFL State league side in 1997.  His good form, created another chance at AFL level via the Crows. James made the most of his second opportunity, showing skill, speed and creativity from the wing. James Thiessen had a major influence on Adelaide’s 1998 premiership victory and was a regular player the following season. However, James played just two games with The Crows in 2000 and he finished his career with Norwood in 2003.
