An All-Australian at under-18 level, Hayden Skipworth stepped straight into the AFL with the Crows just weeks after turning 18 in 2001. He actually had two stints at Adelaide, playing seven games in two seasons before being delisted, and then returning via the Club’s rookie list. While he played 21 games in 2005 he fell out of favour in 2006.
His career flourished in the SANFL, Skipworth was best-on-ground in the 2006 SANFL grand final for Woodville-West Torrens, before he moved to Bendigo in the VFL and earned another AFL chance with Essendon in 2009. With 11 games at the Bombers he retired due to injuries, later returning to the club as an assistant coach.
