Initially selected by the Brisbane Lions with their second-round draft pick in 2006, Chris Schmidt made his AFL debut midway through 2007, followed by two tough years with injury. He returned to Adelaide where a rookie lifeline awaited, yet once again injuries marred his chances. Schmidt’s best year was 2010 when he played 13 games. After his AFL career ended, he returned to West Adelaide and captained the Bloods.
