Chris Knights was drafted by the Crows with pick No. 56 at the 2004 National Draft and made his AFL debut during his first season. The midfielder had to be patient, showing some outstanding form with Woodville-West Torrens but not quite earning a regular spot. That changed in 2007 when he played 22 of a possible 23 games, and then 2009 which saw him boot 43 goals in 20 games.
Knights struggled to recapture this form and suffered a range of injuries in the next three seasons, after 96 games he left Adelaide as a free agent and joined Richmond. for a further 6 games.
