Chris Groom was recruited from South Adelaide as a promising key forward at the end of 1991. After 12 games for the Club he was traded to Fremantle for Andrew McLeod after the 1994 season, but he spent much of his time in Perth playing in the WAFL. Delisted by the Dockers after just one year, he was drafted by North Melbourne. Two knee reconstructions saw him retire after just five appearances at the ‘Roos.
