Adelaide selected Chayce Jones with pick nine at the 2018 national draft after the Tasmanian midfielder starred at junior and senior level that season.

Jones was named in the All-Australian side after the AFL Under-18 Championships and finished the year with an impressive stint with Launceston. He played seven senior games, including two finals, and finished runner-up in the League’s Player of the Year award polling votes in each of his games, including three consecutive best-on-ground performances.

Jones forced his way into Adelaide’s Round One side the next season as a small forward on the back of impressive form in the pre-season competition. He played eight AFL games in his debut season, won the Mark Bickley Emerging Talent Award as the Crows’ best young player and signed a long-term deal.

Jones played 15 of the 17 games in 2020, 15 in 2021 when he spent time in defence, and 20 games in 2022. He had his best season in 2023 after moving to the wing, finishing equal 8th in the Club Champion votes and collecting a career-best 28 disposals against Carlton in the first Gather Round.

Jones only played eight AFL games in his last two seasons. He was a late call-up to play his 100th AFL game early in 2026 but did not return to the side and was delisted at the end of the year. He also played 54 SANFL games for the Crows.
