Adelaide plucked Ben Hudson from VFL club Werribee as a 24-year-old ruckman, although raw he quickly became a contributor for the Crows in big games. A knee reconstruction on the eve of finals in 2005 forced him out for a year. After 2007 he asked to be traded to the Western Bulldogs, where he remained until 2011, before stints at Brisbane and Collingwood rounded out a journeyman career.
