Andrew Crowell, a versatile player from SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens, was recruited by the Crows in the 2000 Pre-season Draft.  He made his AFL debut in the opening round that year and his flexibility proved useful across 44 games in the next three seasons. However, he dislocated a knee in the SANFL and was delisted at the end of the 2003 season. After his playing career ended Crowell became the SA manager of the AFL Foundation Ladder program.
