Aaron Keating, a 202cm ruckman, is best remembered for playing his third AFL game in Adelaide’s 1997 Premiership victory. Originally from the Surfers Paradise Football Club, Aaron Keating transferred from South Adelaide to Norwood in 1996. Keating was drafted by the Adelaide Crows at the end of the 1996 season.
1997 was the highlight of his football career. Keating was a member of both the Crows and Norwood premiership teams. He played for the Adelaide Crows against St. Kilda in the AFL Grand Final and then for the Redlegs against Port Adelaide in the SANFL premiership decider a week later. The 1998 season was not as kind, he played just three more games and was delisted.
He returned to Norwood for the next two seasons, playing a total of 46 games for the Redlegs. Keating’s brother Clark played 139 for Brisbane, including their three premierships.
