Matthew Powell was a solid onballer and defender from South Adelaide drafted at the end of 1992. He was knocked out in his first two games for the Crows in 1993. In total he played 16 games for the Crows over three seasons. Powell later switched SANFL clubs, moving to Sturt where he won the Jack Oatey Medal as best on ground in the grand final defeat of Central District. He retired in 2004 after a total of 203 SANFL games.
