After 38 games in two seasons at Footscray, Kym Koster was traded back to South Australia and the Crows before the 1996 season. It proved a good move as he played in both the 1997 and 1998 premierships. He was a hardworking footballer who spent most of his game time on the wing or at half-forward. He fought back from a knee reconstruction but finished on 95 games with the Club.
