Darryl Wintle was a mature aged recruit for the Crows in the 1999 Pre-Season Draft after being a consistent midfield star with North Adelaide in the SANFL. He played three consecutive AFL games early in his first season but battled injuries and was delisted. He captained North Adelaide from 2002 and retired at the end of 2008 after 186 SANFL games.
